It has seemed a bit quieter on the street as the effects of the Memorial Day Weekend and the economy are taking their toll. Businesses seems less crowded and some familiar SOHO faces seem to not be out and about as much as normal.
With the Summer just starting, this might not be a great sign for the restaurants and bar businesses in Tampa, BUT on a positive note: the realtors are getting more activities on listed properties and more. The next problem is the banks that are still trying to make decisions about what to do with their properties. One buyer story we heard was an accepted offer that took over 9 months to close even though the price and financing had been determined.
With up to an $8,000 tax credit that can now be applied at time of closing for first time homebuyers and low prices, this may be the best time to buy a home.
