Tatoo Parlour Now Open in SOHO. The 500 block of South Howard now has FAT Ink. Located next to the Pita Pit, this large studio is ready for business. Is this the first of many ? Is SOHO becoming another Ybor ?
Corner Bar about to become The Drink. We have seen some initial designs of the soon to be renovated location at S. Howard and Platt Street. They look very cool. Reds, Silvers, and lots of glass. This renovation is being designed and directed by the Wet Group, the same ones that handle Aja at Channelside. Plans are to open in June.
Hyde Park Cafe has now announced that they will be closed on Fridays except for private parties. The spin is that this will be the "Premiere Private Party Venue." Most think this is a sign of more nights to close yet to come. This is a beautiful club and would be missed if that happens.
The Tampa Tribune has announced the end of delivery in Pinellas County for all days except Sunday. Is there more coming ? We hear other outlying areas will lose home delivery for most days as well and that even Tampa may be going to only 4 days a week soon.

ReplyDeleteA tattoo parlor in SOHO is a horrible idea. That type of establishment needs to be in Ybor. SOHO is a great place to party for young, educated people, not for the shady crowd usually associated with tattoos. What's next, a strip club?
ReplyDeleteTwenty, that's a ridiculous idea. A tattoo parlor does nothing bad for SOHO. You're just assuming that all the stereotypical "tattood people" are going to flock. Get your head out of the sand and look at the good it will do.
