The start of a New Year offers each of us a chance to reflect on the past and to think ahead. We all think of what did that we shouldn't have done, what we should of done that we didn't, and what challengest lie ahead.
South Tampa has changed very dramatically in the last few years. A booming real estate market that created jobs and added value to property owners has vanished. Vacant properties abound as lenders cope with trying to handle the glut. Restaurants have suffered from the lack of disposable income. Jobs have become scarce.
South Tampa is fortunate to have an economy that is pretty resilient. The financial impact of MacDill Air Force Base is a frequently forgotten engine that helps drive our local economy.
As the final week of 2010 comes to an end, it is time to look ahead as to where we are on the short term and the longer term. We hope you will participate in our poll on the right to let us know what you think and where you think we are going.
Also, we welcome your comments added below to these questions:
What is the single most important event or occurance that can happen to the Tampa Bay area to make a difference to the lives of everyone in the Tampa Bay area ?
What restaurant and/or club do you think is the best place to go in 2011 ?
We welcome all comments on any and all topics.
