We have heard rumors that several restaurants in South Tampa may be making some significant changes.
We have been unable to prove these stories so far, but will probably get pretty fast responses once we make this post. (Amazing how that happens.)
Ceviche is still doing a brisk business, but we hear that local Orthodontist Randy Feldman (a member of the 13 Ugly Men) may now have an ownership interest.
The former Steak and Ale at Westshore may be gaining some new life soon too. Possible new owners and management are hoping to open by the end of the year. Watch for a new name.
Smoke on Platt Street has decided their format is marketable and have brought in a former executive with a large restaurant chain to assist in establishing franchises.
The former Po'Boys/Corner Bar/ Red House at Platt and Howard has all but stopped construction. After totally gutting the inside, the goal of opening by the end of June looks pretty bleak at this point.
We have sympathy in our heart upon hearing of the loss for a popular SOHO restauranteur. Julio from the former SOHO Sangrias and the about to be Sangrias in Seminole Heights lost his mother in a tragic auto accident.
